Change Futures also partners with the Refugee and Immigrant Legal Service (RAILS) to provide counselling and psychology services to women and children, mostly from Papua New Guinea.
These women and children have experienced significant domestic and family violence from their husbands, family members and even tribal members. Some have fled their villages after being accused of sorcery and receiving death threats. Some women and children have been forced into prostitution when they have arrived destitute in larger towns in PNG. All of these clients have experienced multiple traumas from rape to extreme violence.
Change Futures has also worked with refugee clients experiencing PTSD, depression and anxiety from a range of African, Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
Again this service is provided free to clients and RAILS given the unmet need in the community.
