We take every possible action to prevent harm occurring to our clients and have processes in place to promptly and appropriately respond to any allegations of actual or potential harm arising from our service or disclosed to our service.

We are also committed to protecting the safety of children and young people involved in our services. We have adopted a Child and Youth Risk Management strategy which outlines our commitment to protecting children and young people who access our services.

Our statement of commitment for working with children and young people:

Change Futures is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We have zero tolerance to child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously and consistently as per our policies and procedures (including implementation of our Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy).

In line with our obligations to children and young people, we will contact relevant authorities when we are concerned about a child’s safety. We are committed to identifying and preventing child abuse and removing and reducing any identified risks as per our Risk Management Procedure.

We are committed to safe recruitment procedures, as well as regularly training and educating our staff on child abuse risks. We are also committed to providing a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe and accessible environment for children with a disability. Change Futures has specific policies, procedures and training in place that support our staff to achieve these commitments.

If you would like to access any of our policies or procedures relating to the above, or if you have any questions or feedback, please discuss this with our customer service team through our contact us page.
